The visitors of De Volkskrant Beeldende Kunst Prijs 2012 (Volkskrant Art Award) exhibition in Stedelijk Museum Schiedam chose the work of former resident Sarah van Sonsbeeck (RA 08/09) for the public award.  

Tala Madani (RA 07/08) was awarded the Volkskrant Art Award 2012 by the jury.

The other nominees were Charlotte Dumas (RA 01), David Jablonowski and Rory Pilgrim.
