When responding to the requirements of the individual artist, collaborations and unexpected connections can arise between the various disciplines.
Each year residents develop projects that embrace more than one discipline with several workshops contributing their work and expertise. Examples of inter-disciplinary projects are:
Edward Clydesdale Thomson (RA 11)
The photography and graphics workshops work together with Edward Clydesdale Thomson on a work that Thomson presents at Art Amsterdam. The big black and white image and the silkscreen films are printed at the photography workshop. In the graphics workshop they provide the finishing touch by adding silkscreened leaves in 8 colors. It was a success: Thomson wins the Lecturis Award.
Vitshois Mwilambwe Bondo (RA 08/09)
The following people collaborated on what was termed the 'body-cast' project: Pieter Kemink (ceramics workshop), Anthony Sgard (model maker, designer, and sculptor), Arend Nijkamp (paintlab) and Wim Janssen (wood workshop). This resulted in a life-size sculpture of clear polyurethane resin, filled with dummies.
Vika Mitrichenka (RA 06/07)
The development of an electronic interface, video projection, silk-screen printing, mechanical mechanism, ceramic moulds.
