Claudia Martínez Garay studied Printmaking at the Faculty of Art at the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Peru, graduating in 2007 the first of the class. That year she exhibited her first solo project "Invisible" at the Gallery 80mts2, and the following year the bi-personal "Heaven can wait" with Arturo Kameya. Both have been doing collaborative works since then. In 2011 she presented her solo exhibition "Empire of the Sun" at the Gallery 80mts2; In 2012 “The other, the Same” at the L'Imaginaire Gallery of the Française Alliance of Miraflores; In 2013 “All Dogs go to Heaven” at the Cultural Center Inca Garcilaso of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Peru. In 2014 “Land at the End of the Sea” collaboratiive project with Arturo Kameya at the British Cultural Center of San Juan de Lurigancho. She has participated in several group exhibitions in Latinamerica, among which stand out: IV Trienal Poligráfica de San Juan, Puerto Rico (2015); 12 Cuenca Biennial, Ecuador (2014); “Anamnesia”, Galería Petro Perú; “The Last Frontier” Corriente Alterna Design Gallery (2012); “The Last Five Years” Sala Luis Miroquesada Garland, Miraflores (2011); “Art on the go”. She has received the following recognitions: First Place in the XIV contest "Passport for an Artist" (2011); Honorable Mention and Second Place in the 1st and 2nd National Painting Contest of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (2009.2010); Second Place in the 2nd Contest of Mixed Media and Painting of Alpha Romeo (2008). In 2012-13 she held a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. She has been selected for the Rijksakademie residency for 2016-17 (Amsterdam). Her work is included in the following collections: Graeme W. Briggs Collection; Fundación Studi e Ricerche Benetton; Museum of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, Lima Art Museum (MALI); Micromuseo alfondohaysitio and several private collections.
