Ik ben een kunstenaar die de verwachtingen van de toeschouwer op het snijvlak van kunst en leven prikkelt. Ik concentreer me niet per se op de ontwikkeling van een karakteristieke stijl, maar meer op de manier waarop een activiteit op zichzelf een kunstwerk kan worden. Ik ben geïnteresseerd in goed uitgewerkte interacties, performances die uitgaan van volharding of extremiteit, en voor objecten die een totemistische en archivale betekenis hebben. Ik streef altijd naar een zeer specifieke soort spanning, de spanning die voortkomt uit een ongedwongen wisselwerking tussen ideeën. Processen zijn voor mij van primair belang, want daarin gedijt de sfeer van onderzoek en antagonisme.
I am a person that challenges viewers' expectations around the intersecting spheres of art and life. I focus less on the development of a characteristic style and more on the way in which an activity can itself become a work of art. I am interested in well-crafted interactions, in performances that take endurance or extremity as their point or points of departure, and in objects that have totemic and archival significance. I am always in pursuit of a very specific kind of tension, the tension that comes from the fresh interplay of ideas. For me process is primary because it is where the spirit of inquiry and antagonism flourish.
