RijksakademieOPEN
Beeld 1 / 5   'eat*a*ble', 2013 ceramic cups, 4x4 cm
Through the medium of video, photography, mathematics and installations Masha Ru explores the dynamic between the private and the social. As an extension of her research into various peoples’ ‘eating disorders’, she now involves others in her own odd eating habit: eating clay and ceramics. Though she is questioning taboos and social norms, this is not a protest piece. By exposing her own private habits, even recording the process of breaking up, she is using herself as an instrument to research the boundaries of normalcy.
