she believes that any connection between divergent experience worlds, between an I and a you, depends not on sharing a content or a meaning, but on the very particularity of gestures – on a form of reaching: reaching for something, even without yet having a clear understanding of how to reach it, perhaps not even knowing for certain it is there, but by reaching alone presuming its presence.
