Channel yourself to Sicily in August. Feel the asphyxiating heat of the sun penetrating your skin. All around you, an abundance of flesh is spinning. Thousands of men are offering the naked bodies of baby boys to the angelic icon of San Sebastian. They are all shouting, pressing their bodies to each other. They sweat. Hear the insane mix of primal screams, chants and explosions. Add money and red paper strings EVERYWHERE. Be careful though, and imagine no women, they just follow with devotion, all dressed-up in well-ironed clothes, wearing only socks. You feel dizzy and aroused. Now, come back here. Imagine how badly Pauline fell in love with this. She desperately wants to be part of it. To be there. DEEP INSIDE. She wants to belong. But she knows that she can’t. And so she tries to capture it on film. She goes there and films it every year, over and over, again and again. One day she will tell the story of a poor and sterile man wanting to replace San Sebastian. But more summers have to come before our hero will appear. For now, enjoy a glimpse of her burning desire.
