Ana María Gómez López
Born Minneapolis (US), 1981
Ana María Gómez López uses self-experimentation and historic investigation to question current definitions of the limits of life. Her projects use botanical specimens, prosthetic implants, medical instruments, and other specialized tools to explore the shifting boundaries between humans and their natural environment. Research into archival materials related to history of science and adjacent disciplines is a central element to her artistic practice.
