“I work with materials from industries, infrastructures, and institutions that are nominally public yet privately administered. This economic condition prefigures social struggles for control, community and public power, as well as questions about funding and governance structures. I see making artworks in our time as propositional forms for mediating the ways both society and art itself are articulated, captured, subjugated, and ultimately dismantled by forces that traverse society to remake it in the neoliberal image of the market.”
